We sincerely hope you enjoy your time with us. While there are many quality forums on the Net to discuss both soapmaking as both a hobby and a business, you'll notice a few key aspects of our forum are different.
Here's why:
1. The moderators of "The Rational Soapmaker" welcome members from other communities! This is not an exclusive club. If you are a member of another soapmaking forum, you are welcome to post here as often as you like without divided loyalties. We do, however, ask that you respect our forum rules and refrain from posting information from other forums into "The Rational Soapmaker" and vice versa.
2. We have no "edit" button. Most Net users are very skilled in reading right through typos and we don't put on airs around here. We also wanted to create a sense of personal accountability. You won't see a lot of disappearing posts, deleted threads, etc. here. If you post it, chances are very good it'll be here for as long as the forum exists. Please think carefully about what you say, it will be a part of the permanent record and you will be held accountable.
3. We have isolated all things controversial into the "Enter At Your Own Risk" (EAYOR) section. Many soapers would like to a part of a forum without wading through daily debates on religion, politics, et al. Out of courtesy for those individuals, please do not post anything controversial in any other section. You may express and debate your political and religious views in EAYOR, but do realize that things will get heated…your beliefs will be challenged…you will be held accountable for what you post, so be prepared. Please PM Mori to gain access to EAYOR.
